Dublin FIRST LEGO® League
The Dublin FIRST LEGO® League is designed to inspire interest and participation in science and technology in Dublin Middle School Students by following the vision and mission of FIRST.
The Dublin FIRST LEGO® League is designed to inspire interest and participation in science and technology in Dublin Middle School Students by following the vision and mission of FIRST.
With the help of LEGO® MINDSTORM® NXT Robotics Invention System(TM) technology, students build a robot and compete in a friendly FIRST event. Using LEGO® bricks and other elements, such as sensors, motors, and gears, teams gain hands-on experience in engineering and computer programming principles and PowerPoint presentations.
The build cycle (the main season) for the Middle School Teams is from October to December. Fun and friendly regional competition is held at the end of the season in December and State competition is held in January or February.
Parents serve as coaches and are assisted by Dublin High School Robotics Team members serving as mentors. Advisors from Dublin City Schools and the Dublin Robotics Boosters Organization also support the teams.
